How to schedule posts and threads on X

Choose between an exact time and a reusable queue, keep drafts reviewable, and give RSS content an editorial checkpoint.

Quick answer

Draft the post or thread, choose Now, an exact date and time, or the next open queue slot, verify the account and timezone, then review the scheduled timeline. Use recurring slots for consistency and exact scheduling for launches or time-sensitive posts.

Workflow overview

01

Draft

Write a post or build a thread with per-post limits.

02

Preview

Check ordering, media, links, and the connected account.

03

Place

Choose Now, an exact time, or an open queue slot.

04

Review

Inspect the timeline and move or remove anything incorrect.

05

Publish

Let the approved item run at its scheduled time.

Pick the timing model that matches the post

Use an exact date and time when the content depends on an event, product release, webinar, or announcement. Use a recurring queue when the goal is steady publishing and the exact date matters less than maintaining a useful rhythm.

Twifly's queue expands the posting schedule into future slots. A queued item occupies the next selected opening, while an exactly scheduled item stays tied to its chosen time. The Scheduled view brings queue, exact-time, immediate, manual, RSS, and AI-assisted items into one timeline.

  • Now: publish an approved item immediately.
  • Schedule: choose a specific future date and time.
  • Queue: place the item into a reusable weekday and time-slot schedule.

Schedule a thread as one ordered object

Write each part inside the thread composer, check the per-post character count, and read the sequence from top to bottom before scheduling. Treat the opening post and the final call to action as part of the same review instead of scheduling separate posts manually.

When a thread is added to the queue, it takes one open publishing slot. Editing before publication should preserve the intended order; removing it should free that slot for another approved item.

Configure RSS before automatic scheduling

An RSS workflow starts with a valid feed URL, a post-format template, optional hashtags, keyword filters, a daily post count, and a publishing schedule. Preview a real feed item against the template before launch.

Matching feed items are scheduled automatically using your publishing schedule, including recurring slots if you select your queue times. Review the preview and source link before launch, confirm that you are authorized to publish the feed content, and monitor upcoming posts after launch.

Use a five-point preflight check

Before leaving a queue unattended, confirm the connected account, timezone, schedule, first upcoming slot, and final rendered content. After the first item publishes, inspect it on X and review the Twifly activity entry before filling weeks of future slots.

  • Correct X account and connection health.
  • Correct timezone, run day, and intended slot.
  • Links and media resolve to the right destination.
  • Thread order and character counts are valid.
  • RSS rights, filters, template, and review path are clear.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Should I use an exact time or the queue?

Use an exact time for time-sensitive content. Use the queue for an ongoing publishing rhythm where the next approved slot is the important constraint.

Can I schedule complete X threads?

Twifly includes a thread composer and schedules the ordered thread as one item in the timeline or queue.

Does RSS publish every item automatically?

The workflow can filter and format feed items. Use drafts or queue review when you need an editorial checkpoint, and publish only content you are authorized to use.
